Never use the microwave to warm formula. Serious burns can result. Prepared formula needs to be fed immediately after preparation or refrigerated within 1 hour after mixing. Discard leftover formula after feeding. Powdered formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to an infant diagnosed with immune problems unless directed and supervised by a healthcare professional. Ask your baby’s doctor about the need to use cooled, boiled water for mixing and the need to boil (sterilize) bottles, nipples, and rings before use. If using tap water, bring to a rolling boil for one minute and cool for no more than 30 minutes.
